New Bantam AAA Division Chair for 2013!
Posted November 19, 2012
2012 Bantam AAA Division Boss Ray Wearing was faced with a difficult choice due to a new B.C. Minor directive and after only 1 year on the job will not be returning as the B.C. Minor Bantam AAA Division Chair.
After going through 4 years of stability with Kyle Williams as the chair 2008- 2011, this will now be the 3rd straight year that the Bantam AAA Director position will be run by a different BCMBA Board Member.
The
new B.C. Minor directive indicated that a Division Chair could not also
hold a position on the BCMBA Executive. Wearing was forced to choose
to either stay on as BCMBA Treasurer or Bantam AAA
Division Chair. In a conversation with Ray he mentioned that there was
"not to much interest in the Treasurer's postion," so he decided to be a
team player and stay on as Treasurer for the 2013 season thereby relinquishing his Bantam AAA duties.
opportunity.
The Vancouver Mounties would like to welcome the new Bantam AAA Division Chair Mike Kelly. Mike has been around baseball for many years and will certainly be a more than capable replacement for Ray. In fact this will not be the first time that the Mounties and Mr. Kelly have crossed paths. Mike was the General Manager of the upstart Vancouver Rockies team in 2010. It was a memorable year as the heated crosstown rivalry between the two Vancouver Teams was one of the most intense in Bantam AAA history.
This time the relationship should be a bit more subdued as the Mounties look forward to working together with Mike, to continue to help make the Bantam AAA league one of the best in Canada.
