2nd B.C. Minor Director Steps Down!

Posted March 20, 2013

Long time BC Minor Board member Randy Downes becomes the 2nd BC Minor Board member to leave the BC Minor Board in less than a month.  Downes' resignation follows former BC Minor Board member Richard Todd who stepped down from the BC Minor Board several weeks ago.

Downes, one of the most successful managers in BC Minor history, was on top of the world last summer when he managed Team BC to an upset victory at the CABA World Series of Baseball in Sylvania, OH.  Months later he was presented with the BC Minor Coach of the Year award only to have the award taken away a month later when the BC Minor Board decided to review their process on selection of the Coach of the Year award.

Downes' problems continued this year when after managing the first Canadian team to a win at the CABA Tournament he found out that his 2013 manager's application for the CABA team was not successful.

The Vancouver Mounties would like to thank Randy for all the time that he has served on the BC Minor Board promoting youth baseball in BC.
