Jamboree: Mounties Sink Tritons!
Posted March 29, 2013
Hogan and Gee shared the pitching duties and both had solid outings and managed to stay the course giving up only 1 earned run between them. The Mounties defence was good but at times lacked mental discipline which resulted in 5 errors and 4 unearned runs. Lindeman and Tintero led all batters with 3 hits each. Younan contributed with 4 RBI's including a bases clearing triple. Kingsbury, Tintero, and Lindeman also recorded 3 RBI's a piece. Leading scorers were Ensing, Hogan, and Lindeman who each plated 3 times.
As usual at Bird Field there was a problem with the lights. This time Mother Nature was the cause as a tree fell and knocked down the power lines. Although lights were not needed during the day, the results were felt as the concession and washrooms were closed. B.C. Hydro was there all day doing their best to get the power back up and running. The Tournament organizers did their best to minimize the damage by bringing in 4 porta poties, but after being unable to make a decision, made a very late decision to postpone the Mounties Tri Cities game to Sunday morning at 10:00 am while never bothering to tell the Mounties coaching staff causing many players and families to make a wasted trip back to the park.
