Mounties Ambushed by Indians!
Posted April 16, 2013
The Tri City Indians were ready and waiting for the Mounties holding batting practice at Nanaimo Park even before the home team even arrived. The Mounties played hard but the Indians jumped off to a 4 - 0 lead scoring 2 in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd off of Mounties starting pitcher Huntley. Sebben replaced Huntley in the third and promptly worked the Mounties out of a jam striking out 2 Indian batters. This gave the Mounties some life and they were able to get 1 back in the bottom of the 3rd when Hogan singled in Ensing to make the score 4 - 1.
Sebben did his part to shutting out the Indians for the next 3 innings striking out 9 of the next 11 batters he faced giving the Mounties a chance to come back. But it just wasnt going to happen on this night as the Indian pitcher was on and when the Mounties were able to get some opportunities the Indian defence made tough plays at the right times.
The Mounties were out hit by a 4 - 7 margin. Pitching was strong in this game as the Tri City pitcher went the distance striking out 11 Mountie batters. Huntley (4) and Sebben (11) combined for 15 strikeouts, with Kingsbury coming in relief to get the final 2 outs.
It was a hard played game by both teams but the Indians were the better team on this night.
