B.C. Minor Rules Forfeits No longer Valid?
Posted May 29, 2013
B.C. Minor feels that it would not be in the best interest of the development of players, nor the game, to forfeit this game. Mr. Drysdale's report also states that "While baseball is a competitive sport, it is not all about winning.
The directive did not say if all forfeits will now follow this precedent.
The Mounties certainly do not agree with this decision and will make no comment on the ruling as in past they have been sanctioned by suspension for posting negative comments on this site that have been seen as bringing the game into disrepute.
However the Mounties will go on record as saying that they were only following BC Minor rules when they reported the game as a forfeit. The Mounties also agree with BC Minor on development having put more players in the higher levels of baseball than any other Bantam AAA team in the past 5 years. On the part about "its not all about winning." We will respectfully disagree as the way this league is set up, the only avenue available to get to a National Championship is by winning, and that is the goal of our Mountie team every year.
