Orioles Complete Season Sweep of Rival

The Orioles were coming off the ugliest win they have had this season. It was a tough game that the Orioles pulled off, but struggled pitching wise and fielding wise. On April 13th, the Orioles were ready for Tea Area and were ready to perform better in all three of the major areas of baseball.

The Orioles went with Brock Anderson on the mound who has had some recent success. The Titans went with Cole Barthel as their pitcher. The top of the first was uneventful but the bottom of the first wasn’t for Tea. After a single from Munkvold, Bohaboj reached on an error and that scored Munkvold to make it 1-0 Tea. In the top of the second, Stien’s reaching on error, Kayl’s single and McLaren’s strikeout put runner on second and third with one out. McEntee would single up the middle to score two and make it 2 to 1 Lennox. Lennox would threat a little more, but nobody scored. The bottom of the second and the third inning was quite uneventful in the game.

In the fourth inning, Ludens and Lackas both reached on error and the second error scored Ludens to make it 3 to 1. The inning would end with no big occurrences happening. In the top of the fifth, Hinker’s double and Stiens reach on fielder’s choice led to a runner on 2nd. Back to back RBI singles from Kayl and McLaren would score two and make it 5 to 1. In home half of the fifth went by easily. Then in the top of the sixth, Leisinger reached base with two outs and Oldenkamp singled him in to make it 6 to 1. The sixth went by quick again for the Orioles defense and in the seventh they threatened again. With one out, Luke and Peters hit singles to put two on. Wallenstein worked a long at bat and walked. Then Lackas singled in a run and Leisinger hit into a fielder’s choice to score another and it was now 8 to 1. In the seventh, Leisinger came into pitch for Anderson. 2 singles and a fielder’s choice made two outs but scored one for Tea. With the score 8 to 2, Oldenkamp got a ground ball and threw the runner out at first for out number three. The Orioles had snatched an 8 to 2 win over Tea Area.

The Orioles got a great pitching performance from Brock Anderson who pitched 6 innings and threw only 77 pitches. He also struck out 9 of which two were looking. They also had big hitting games from Kayl, McEntee, Hinker, Oldenkamp, Lackas and McLaren. The Orioles finished with 11 hits and 7 RBI’s! It was an overall and all around great played game by the Lennox Orioles as they had only 1 walk allowed and 1 error given up which is better than the 10 walks allowed and 8 errors vs Canton.

The Orioles host West Central on April 14th at 5:30. It will be a great game with beautiful weather, so come on out and watch some great baseball in great weather.

Thanks for reading, have a nice day and GOOOOOO Orioles!
