Wallenstein and Leisinger’s Excellent Pitching Lead to Win
The Orioles have had some recent struggles as they lost three straight games. However, they prepared for Canton on Friday the 29th in Canton. Lennox decided to pitch Junior Braedon Wallenstein against Canton’s own Austin Rhode.
In the first two innings, both teams got absolutely nothing going. Lennox got a single form Devon Jongeling in the 3rd, but no one could come around to score. In the 5th, Lennox got Nick Kayl to walk with one out. He would steal second and then Jongeling struck out. The next hitter was Lawton Luke who hit a blooper pop fly down the right field line and it dropped in for an RBI single and Lennox took a 1-0 lead. After that, McEntee and Lackas both singled to make the bases loaded with two outs. However, Leisinger grounded into a fielder’s choice and Lennox left the bases loaded.
In the sixth, Lennox didn’t score and then Tyler Leisinger came into pitch in the bottom of the sixth. A ground out to Oldenkamp, a groundout to Luke and a strikeout led to an easy inning. In the 7th, Lennox got no runs and so a scoreless 7th would be a Lennox win. A leadoff walk led to a runner on with no outs. Then during the next at bat, the runner tried to steal and was thrown out at second to make the first out. A strikeout to Sam Peterson made out number two. The game finished when Leisinger got Alex Dejong to fly out to Jongeling at third.
With that win, Lennox advances to 5 wins and 3 losses and they are now in second place in District 3 behind Sioux Falls Christian. The Orioles now prepare for the Hanson County Ducks with that game coming on Monday May 2nd at 6:00 in Alexandria.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day and GOOOOOO Orioles!
