Good Weather plus Good Baseball Equals Perfect Weekend
Posted April 18, 2017
Lennox will look to continue their successful season this weekend battling Canton (2-2) on Friday at 5:30 and Hanson County (2-2) on Sunday at 2:00.
For the first time in many years, the normally rainy month of April has been quite dry, dry enough to play baseball anyway. The great weather is forcasted to continue as this weekend is featuring 60 degree plus weather. Friday's sunny and 62 degrees game should attract a big crowd, along with the fact that Canton is a District 3 South rival.
Last season, Lennox found themselves at the good side of two completely different games. The first game vs Canton was a 15-14 shootout win, ending on a Jacob Lackas walk off single. The second game was a defensive battle in which Lennox pulled off the 1-0 victory. One game was a 29 total run shootout and the other game was a 1 total run shutout for Lennox. Lennox will look to defeat Canton for the third straight time. In the past 3 seasons, Lennox and Canton have split 3-3 in regular season battles.
With Prom being Saturday, then the next game is Sunday at 2:00 vs Region 3 rival Hanson County. Forcasted at a beautiful 65 degrees and sunny, Lennox will look to continue their success vs yet another tough opponent.
Last season Lennox fell 4-3 to Hanson County. Lennox jumped out to an early 3-0 lead featuring Brock Stien's 2 RBI single in the first. However good defense from Hanson held Lennox there plus bad pitching from Lennox led to 5 walks, 1 hit and 1 hit by pitch for Hanson County to walk off winner vs Lennox 4-3. It was the second time playing as rivals. LHS will attempt to pick up their first Region win over Hanson County in the career battle between the two.
So find the time to make it to the ball park in Lennox for two great games this weekend. Good weather and good competition will make for some great entertainment!
