Lennox defeated District 3 South Rival Canton on Friday against a final score of 5-4.
It all started in Lennox's favor. An error, a walk and singles from Braedon Wallenstein and Tyson Stoebner gave Lennox a 3-0 lead after one. However, four hits and a walk led to 4 Canton runs in the top of the third.
In the 4th, senior Marshall McLaren would answer back well by getting a one out triple to deep center field. Senior Brock Stien would single in McLaren to tie it up at 4. In the fifth, Zach Foss reached on a walk and would work the bases to score on Quincy Ihnens ground out to short and Lennox would take a 5-4 lead.
Brock Anderson had found a groove as he had gotten 9 of the last 10 hitters out. In the top of the 7th, Anderson would hit a batter and get a fielders choice. With 1 out and a 3-2 count, a steal was called. Canton's Beatty would swing and miss as Elke was thrown out stealing by Stien and Lennox had won.
Brock Anderson led the force allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits while striking out 12.
Lennox will host Hanson County today at 2 in Lennox. So make your way to the ball park for some nice weather and baseball.
