Lennox's Defense leads to Record Extending Win

Posted May 4, 2017

Lennox's defense was dominating again allowing only one run in a 7 to 1 win over District 3 South Rival Tea.

Lennox started a little slow as Nick Zabel for Tea hit an RBI double to left center to make it 1-0 in the top of the first. Lennox finally rebounded in the 2nd adding four runs. It started with Anderson's walk which later he scored on Stien's RBI groundout. Zach Foss walked, Stoebner singled and Zach Leisinger singled and then Lennox led 4-1.

The bottom of the third was exciting as Lennox got a single from Braedon Wallenstien and then Brock Anderson hit a double off the top of the fence in deep left center. Quincy Ihnen would then hit a 2 RBI double followed by Stoebner's RBI single. Lennox now led 7-1. Then senior Braedon Wallenstien took over as the pitcher. In the final four innings, Wallenstien struck out four hitters while allowing four hits. A line out to right fielder Camden Wulf and then a throw out at first led to a game ending double play. Zach Leisinger made a super impressive pick of the baseball at first to end the game.

Lennox will have their hands full Saturday as 9 win and 0 loss McCook Central Montrose will come to town at 6:00. It will be a tough task for Lennox and McCook as both teams are undefeated and looking to be set well for the region top seed.
