The comeback kids

Another thriller on Sunday, June 11. Nothing went the Hollanders way through the first 7 innings. The bats were quiet and things were looking grim.
Westonka was up 9-1 heading into the 8th and then all heck broke loose. Tim Swanson led off the inning with a single followed by walks from Ben Lindberg, Isaac Tollefson and Andrew Eggers to bring Swanson across. Melvin Moldanado reached base on a fielders choice followed by an Adam Good walk and Brandon Fritz hit by pitch to make the score 9-4. With the bases loaded Max Wiegert smoked a double to the wall in left-center to clear the bases and pull the boys within 2 runs. Graham Burke bounced one over the second baseman's mitt for a hit followed by another Tim Swanson single, his second of the inning. A walk from Lindberg, double by Tollefson, and three more singles capped off a 12 run inning and put the Hollanders up 13-9.
Westonka hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 9th but Wiegert shut the door after that and the boys in orange held on to win 13-11. Another great TEAM effort with every guy that we had available today contributing at the plate and in the field.
Eichner, Burke and Wiegert all toed to rubber today. They pitched hard against a good hitting Westonka squad.
