Hollanders split the weekend

Another fun night at the ballpark. Thank you to Hollander Nation for coming out in full force. So much fun playing in front of a large crowd. Your support has been fantastic this year. Thank you!

Game recap:
The Hollanders few behind 1-0 after the first inning. Tim Swanson led off the bottom of the 2nd by reaching base on an error. Graham Burke walked followed by a Zack Nelson single to load the bases. Brandon Fritz hit an infield single to drive in the tying run but the Hollanders couldn't scratch anymore across.
Norwood plated another run in the top of the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead. In the bottom half Torben Urdahl reached via walk and David Solfelt hit a double. With 2 outs, Graham Burke hit a clutch 2 RBI double to give the Hollanders a 3-2 lead. Zack Nelson would single but Burke was thrown out at the plate by the centerfielder.
In the bottom of the 4th, Fritz led off with a single and moved up to 2nd on a fielders choice groundball by Lilya. Casey Clemensen delivered an RBI double and would eventually come around to score on an Urdahl RBI single. Hollanders lead was now 5-2.
In the 5th, Cologne added one more after Nelson reached base on a hit by pitch. He would steal 2nd and then move up to 3rd on an overthrown. Fritz reach on an error to drive in Nelson for a 6-2 lead.
Norwood added 2 runs in the top of the 7th and another in the top of the 8th to pull within one. In the bottom of the 8th, Lilya reached on a walk and stole 2nd. Clemensen moved him up to 3rd on a groundout to the right side. Urdahl delivered another single to drive in Lilya to make the score 7-5
Urdahl had a clean 9th and the Hollanders held on for a 7-5 victory. Solfelt started on the bump and went 6 innings giving way to Urdahl to finish off the last 3.
Not much good to report from the game on Sunday against Plato. The short handed Hollanders fall 10-0 in 8 innings.
