PUA & SESBL

The following outlines the expectations as far as the Parkland Umpires Association (PUA) and the SESBL

�

1. PUA will assign a minimum of 2 umpires to each SESBL game with the exception of the Swan River Reds team, who will assign their own umpires.

2. Where ever possible 3 umpires will be assigned to each game.� However recognizing time may arise where there are insufficient umpires PUA will notify the home team by noon of game day if only 1 umpire is available.� The home team will communicate this to the visiting team, so the game may be cancelled if both teams are not willing to play a gem with a 1 umpire system
3. Game fee $100/Game for 2 or 3 umpires, if circumstances require a 1 man umpire system and the teams are in agreement to �Play the game fee will be $75/game.
4. The teams will be billed for the umpires and mileage at the end of each month, and submit payment through their local assignor by the 15^th of the following month.
5. Mileage will be charged at $0.35/KM based on Google maps estimated mileage.
6. The following chart was used for 2012 season and will be the basis for mileage charges for 2013 season.

1. PUA will charge a maximum of 1 mileage per game.� The PUA expects umpires assigned to travel together.� In the event that the umpires cannot or decide not to travel together the longest mileage will be charged and the umpires will split that mileage.
2. PUA will assign umpires in a manner to minimize any teams travel costs.� Where assignments are such that the mileage cost would exceed $70.00 assignor will provide the home team with an opportunity to accept the mileage or arrange an alternate game date.
3. As per your annual league meeting the games are expected to start at the scheduled time.� Unless prior arrangements have been made, the umpires will enter the playing filed 5 minutes prior to start time and hold the plate conference.� All teams accept that if they have not �completed� their infield practice that such infields cease at the moment the umpires enter the playing field.
4. �As per the team�s commitment to have completed their infields a minimum of 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time the PUA umpires agree to be dressed and ready to start the games as per scheduled time.� PUA further agrees to take a 20% game fee reduction if a game is delayed due to umpires not being dressed and ready at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
5. Rain Cancellations and other unforeseen cancelations: Where cancellations are unable to be made prior to umpires leaving for the scheduled game and either arrive at or cancellation is received� while trip is in progress, any compensation for mileage will be up to the team and umpires involved to arrive at an equable solution.
6. PUA , PUA Umpires, SESBL and SESBL Teams will abide by the Memorandum with all parties recognizing that unforeseen actions may affect the ability to meet all terms and conditions.� If such an unforeseen action occurs communication is key to resolving the issue in a professional manner.
