Spurs Black Capture Cloverdale Cup World Series!
After a very exciting month of Fall Ball, all the Cloverdale Cup teams met on Saturday to compete in the first ever Bantam Cloverdale Cup World Series. The Spurs Black defeated the Spurs White in the first game while the Spurs Red defeated the Spurs Silver to set up the World Series match up.
In what turned out to be a very exciting finale to the season, the Red team jumped ahead 5-2 in the thrird inning The Black squad battle back in the fifth to take an 8-5 lead that they would never relinquish. Storrie capped the Black rally with the only Homer of the day.
The Sunshine helped make this a great day for the Spurs as they closed their 2011 season. The BBQ was much enjoyed by all the players and fans while two spirited competitions took place to win some nice Demarini M2M bats. Gerbert won the hitting event while Gatlabayan walked away with the throwing contest. Congratulations to both!
It was a great Fall Ball season for all. It included 6 tournaments, 65 games, and some great road trips. Thank you to all players. parents, coaches, and umpires for a great fall ball season!
