After an awful start against the North Delta Astros in their first game of the Provincials, the Spurs bounced back with 3 consecutive wins to secure top spot in their pool. The host team from Victoria would prove though in the semi-finals however as they sent their big Lefty to the mound. Horne would feed on the cheers of the home crowd as he struck out 14 Spurs in a complete game 7-1 win. The Eagles would build on their victory to defeat the Vancouver Mounties in the final and secure the 2011 Bantam AAA Crown and advance to the Nationals in Vaughn Ontario later this month.

Congratulations to Victoria and bring home the Gold at the Nationals.

The Spurs also needs to be congratulated for a fine season and for making it to the final 4. After a shaky 2 and 5 start to their season, the Spurs bouced back to a 30-9 record which included an incredible 20 game win streak. The Spurs were competitive in all the US tournament they entered playing against older U-16 teams and battled hard to the last out. In the end the Spurs could not overcome their injuries and bruises and one dominating pitching performance.

Big thank you to you boys and coaches for a fine season. Kudos also go to  a great group of parents for their continued support throughout the season. Best of luck to the graduating boys in all their baseball endeavors and we hope the 1997 class will come back more hungry than ever in 2012.
