Posted Sep 15/11 - Spurs Enter Coquitlam Bantam Fall Tournament

With a number of multisport athletes on their rosters who could not make the treck to Yakima, the Spurs will be entering a very competitive team in the Coquitlam Bantam Tournament Hosted by the Tri-City Indians and Randy "Curly" Downes.

Under the guidance of Coach "Sparky" Watkins and "Tommy" Thompson, the Spurs look forward to competing against local Bantam Fall Ball teams. All games will be played at Bird Field in Gates Park in POCO ( 2215 Reeve St. , Port Coquitlam, BC),  the Roster for the Coquitlam Classic will be as follows:

Wed Sept 21      Tri-City vs Richmond  6.30pm
Thurs Sept 22    Cloverdale vs Aldergrove 6.30pm ( If Cancelled the game wiil be replayed Friday at 5:30PM)

Fri   Sept 23      Rutland vs North Van     6.30pm

Sat Sept 24      Aldergrove vs Tri-City  8.30am

Rules:             All BC Minor rules apply including pitching other than below

4 run max per inning with 6th and 7th innings open
1 Hour and 50 min time limits on Sat.  No new inning to start after 1 hour 50 minutes
EH and DH are permitted.  You may may bat a minimun of 9 players or a maximun of 15.  BC Minor re-entry rule in effect for teams not batting all their players.
Runners for the catcher is allowed at any time and MANDATORY with 2 outs.
No protests--umpire decisions are final
Warm-ups outside the field on Sat and Sun.
Teams need to be prepared to start 10 minutes early on Saturday.
Note:  In the event of the predicted heavy rain on Thursday if it is neccessary to cancel that game it will be moved to Friday--5.30 start and the Friday game will start at 7.30.   Time limits will then be in effect.
