Despite hit advantage, Russell County Lakers Varsity drops 3-1 game to Butler

Russell County Lakers Varsity lost 3-1 in seven innings on Friday, despite outhitting Butler nine to two.

Grant Best looked sharp on the mound. Butler managed just two hits off of Best, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his six innings of work.

Dakota Groah got the win for Butler. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. Dakota struck out five, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Grant took the loss for Russell County Lakers Varsity.

Butler closer Zach Jones put away the final out to record the save.

Butler went up for good in the third, scoring three runs on two errors.
