Posted Nov 7/10 - Bantam AAA Winter Training Starts November 9.

The Bantam AAA coaching staff is pleased to announce their Winter Training Program for all Bantam age players. The program will run twice a week for 17 weeks starting on November 9.

The Core, Fitness, and Agility Training component will run on Tuesday nights from 6:30PM to 8:00PM at Sports Starz in Surrey.

The Hit Like a Pro Sessions  will run at the Batting Cage from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Sunday evenings starting November 14.

A BONUS drop in hitting session will run on Thursday evenings from 8:00PM to 9:30PM. This casual session will include a Winter Hitting League component with weekly prizes and a much coveted championship trophy at the end of the winter.

The Cost of the program will be $300 for 17 weeks which can be paid in 3 monthly installments. It includes all 3 sessions.

Tuesday Night Sessions

 Time & Location: 6:30PM to 8:00PM at Sport Starz (12960 84th Ave)

 Core, Fitness, and Agility Training with Keith and Mark Faure

 We believe you have to prepare the body to perform at a top level before you hit the field. Our number one focus is to prevent arm injuries by building the legs, core and upper back in order to allow for much less stress on the arm.

 You will be going through a Baseball Specific Fitness Program that will increase your strength and agility. Players will be encouraged to do additional work at home. This program is designed to develop strength and power and to reduce injuries down the road. It Includes:

 Individual Benchmarking

 Conditioning

 Skill development

 Mental training components.

 Maximum-intensity exercises,

 Core training moves mixed with plyometric drills

 Nonstop intervals of strength, power and resistance exercises.

 What Should You Expect?

 SWEAT (Bring a water jug)

 You will be pushed to your limits and expected to work as hard as possible.

 Lots of ab and core training moves

Extras

As the program progresses, Coach Parker will be working one on one with participants to address player specific issues such as mechanics, foot speed, etc.

Sunday Night Hit Like a Pro Sessions

Time & Location: Sunday 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Cloverdale Batting Cage

 Hitting Like a Pro with Coach Parker, Watkins, and Thompson

In this session you can expect to work on the following:

Warm up

 Hitting Specific Exercises

 Stance, Balance and swing plane for hitting

 Mental preparation and Hitting Philosophy

 Hand-eye coordination drills

 Opposite field hitting (staying inside the baseball)

 Hitting with two strikes

 Hitting Off-speed pitches 

 Lots of work off the T

 Live hitting

 Pitching Machine hitting

 Bonus Thursday Winter Leagues Hitting Sessions

 Time & Location: 8:00PM to 9:30PM at the Cloverdale Batting Cage

 Drop in for some more hitting drills and compete in the Bantam Hitting League for some fun. Activate your competive juices and compete to become the weekly Batting Champ. One champ will be crowned every Thursday and win a prize. A winter season champ will be crowned in March and rewarded with the coveted Cloverdale Winter League Trophy.  Batting average will be kept throughout the winter.
