Posted Oct 15/11 - Cloverdale Spurs Bantam AAA Program

Welcome to the website of the Bantam AAA Cloverdale Spurs. We represent Cloverdale Minor Baseball Association.  We play in BC Minor Baseball’s Bantam AAA division, the highest caliber of baseball for the 14-15 year old age group in BC.

Our Bantam AAA team is lead by well known Cloverdale coach John Parker, who is assisted by independent coaches Dave Watkins, Jeff Thompson, Brad Mazer, and Drew Parker. All bring a wealth of baseball knowledge and teaching experience to the Spurs program.

During the 2011 season we played teams from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the BC Interior, and the USA. Starting in March and ending in August, our schedule  includes  44 Bantam AAA games, and another 35 tournament and exhibition games.

Our Program is challenging, competitive and demanding and will prepare young players to move up to the next level of play. Players are exposed to some great coaching and expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic and hustle to help them reach their full potential. Players are expected to train diligently and push themselves; to be positive teammates; to respect the game, opponents, coaches, and umpires at all times; and to have FUN. We expect them to conduct themselves with class and respect on and off the field and to be role models for younger Cloverdale Minor Baseball ballplayers.

For our program to be succesful, we expect the same level of commitment from parents who are expected to assist the team in support functions and devote long hours to team fundraising. Parents can also expect a fair amount of travel with at least 3 rooad trips to Vancouver Island and the Interior in addition to 3 tournaments in Washington State.

While our program is very demanding, our players can expect to be rewarded with skills and experiences to last a lifetime…

A program of this calibre is usually fairly costly, however,  the 2011 Spurs Parent group put in an incredible amount of effort in fundraising and the players were able to play the whole season for a $325 registration fee.  For that amount, Spurs players  participated in 79 games and received:

Premier League Calibre Coaching
6 Tournaments including 3 in the US
Custom Jersey
2 Pairs of Pants, Belt and Socks
2 Hats
Batting Helmet
Spurs Custom Jacket
BP Jacket
2 Practice Tops
Personalized Equipment Bag
1 Day of Hitting at America Baseball Camp
1 Mariners Game
Meals Between DH
Transportation on the Island for Island Games
