Game Notes: JV’s lose their regular season opener to hosting Carolina Forest 6-3 in a tightly contested game. CF fielded a seasoned team, that included three sophomores listed on their varsity roster. Nevertheless, the Braves scratched their way to a 3-3 tie going into the bottom of the fifth before relinquishing the go-ahead runs. Chase Keevert (6k), Kyle Smith (0er), and Chase Clark (0er) battled on the hill for the Braves in a losing effort. In spite of recording 15 strikeouts to strong pitching, the offense did have some bright spots - Hayden Miller (3-3, rbi), Trevor Bigham (1-2, r, rbi), Tyler Dillon (1-3, bb), and Kyle Smith (1-4).
