Rain delay moved the Forest Lake game back an hour or so--but it did not dampen the Reds desire...At the end of just 5 innings they walked off the field behind Bryan Scanlon's Grand Slam and a 12-0 win. Picnic at Field and a rest back at the hotel. Next game at 7 or so tonight!

The Reds travel to Grand Rapids for the tournament. Two games in and a day at the lake behind them they are ready to face Forest Lake and Oconto Falls Saturday. Hope the rain lets up enough to let them play!!!

The Reds (31-11) came from behind again to defeat Post 1 in the Championship game of the District 5 Tournament. The Reds were down 9-3 in the bottom of the 6th when they put together 5 runs to come within one. They added 3 in the bottom of the 8th and held on to win. Donald Blunt got the win on the mound throwing 2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2. Pierce Book started and Erik Lasserud pitched a solid 7th before Blunt came in. Tommy DeRoma was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Adam Seaman was 2 for 3 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored and Dylan Klopp had the game tying, 2-run single in the 8th before scoring on a squeeze bunt by Chris "Doug" Daly to take the lead. Up next for the Reds is the State Tournament!! They will play the District 2 Champion on Thursday, August 7th at 10am. The game will be played at AliMagnet Park in Burnsville.

July 27, 2008
The Reds (30-11) came from behind tonight to beat the District 5 Stars 8-7 to advance to the championship game. The Reds were down 7-4 going into the bottom of the 9th when then managed to score 4 runs on three Stars errors, a hit by pitch, an Adam Seaman single and the eventual two RBI walk off single by Dylan Klopp. Dylan Olson got the win on the mound for the Reds going seven innings and allowing just one earned run. Up next for the Reds is the District 5 championship game Tuesday night, 7pm at Donaldson Park. Still alive in the tournament are Post 1 and Southwest, who play Monday night at 6 pm, and the Distric 5 Stars who play the winner of that game Tuesday at 4 pm.

The Reds (29-11) won their first round of play in the District tournament today winning 16-0 over Post Office. Chris Daly got the win on the mound pitching all 7 innings. Tom DeRoma was 4 for 4 with three doubles a walk and 5 runs scored. Bryan Scanlon was 3 for 4 with two doubles and a homerun. Up next the Reds play Distric 5 Stars at 5 pm at Dondaldson Park.

The Reds (28-11) capped off the regular season tonight with a 3-2 victory over Post Office. Dylan Olson got the win on the mound with Pierce Book coming in to save the game in the 7th. The Reds were down 2-1 in the bottom of the 6th when Kevin Roth reached on a walk and Donald Blunt hit his 7th homerun of the season to take the lead. Bryan Scanlon was 2 for 3 on the day with two doubles. Next up for the Reds is the 5th District Tournament which begins on Saturday with the Reds playing the winner of Giant Valley and Post Office at 3 pm at Donaldson Park in Richfield.

The Richfield Reds (27-11) won the again Monday night defeating Giant Valley 10-2. Colte Hinz got the win on the mound. Next up for the Reds is the regular season finale on Thursday vs Post Office.

The Richfield Reds (26-11) won the 2008 District 5 regular season championship tonight with a 17-7 win over Minneapolis Southwest! Pierce Book got the win on the mound, allowing just 1 earned run on 6 hits in 6 innings. He also had 5 strikeouts. Kevin Roth hit his 2nd home run of the season, finishing the game 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 5 rbi. Erik Lasserud was 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored. Tommy DeRoma scored 4 times and Chris Daly crossed the plate 3 times. The Reds take on Giant Valley tomorrow at 6pm at RHS and then close out the regular season vs. Gopher Post Office Thursday.

The Richfield Reds (25-11) defeated Bloomington Gold 10-1 today on a great pitching performance by Dylan Olson. He got the complete game allowing just 1 earned run on 3 hits. He struck out 4 and walked one. Tommy DeRoma scored three times for the Reds and Adam Hill & Chris Daly each scored twice. Next up is game two of a double header tonight. Richfield vs. Mpls Southwest at 6pm at RHS.

July 17, 2008
The Reds (24-11) defeated Gopher Post Office tonight 8-0. Chris Daly got the complete game shutout win on the mound, allowing just 5 hits on 68 total pitches. Bryan Scanlon hit his first home run of the season finishing the game 2 for 4 with 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. Kevin Roth also scored twice, going 3 for 4 with an rbi triple in the 6th. The Reds will have the next 2 days off after playing their longest stretch of baseball this season. Double header on Sunday. Game 1 will be at Red Haddox at 2:30pm vs. Bloomington Gold. Game 2 will be at RHS at 6pm vs. Minneapolis Southwest.

The Richfield Reds (23-11) defeated Calhoun Northside tonight 6-1 at Patrick Henry High School. Erik Lasserud pitched great, getting the complete game win, allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits and striking out 3. Kevin Roth scored twice for the Reds, going 1 for 1 with a walk and two hit by pitches. Bryan Scanlon also scored twice going 2 for 3. Dylan Olson had a 2-run single in the 6th and Donny Blunt had an rbi triple. Next up for the Reds is Gopher Post Office tomorrow night at RHS at 6pm.

NOTE: The Reds will play Bloomington Gold on Sunday, July 20 at 2:30 at Red Haddox Field.

The Reds (22-11) were defeated by Giant Valley tonight 7-6. Cory Fitzgerald pitched a good game on the hill going the full 7 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 8 hits while striking out 3. Adam Seaman hit a solo homerun in the 3rd finishing the game 3 for 4 with 3 rbi. Tyler Klopp had a 2-run double in the 6th and Timmy Markos finished the game 2 for 5 with an rbi and a run scored.

Congratulations to the Richfield Reds for winning the 2008 Gopher Classic Tournament!!! The Reds (22-10) defeated Bozeman, Montana 3-2 in today's championship game at the Metrodome. Tommy DeRoma was the winning pitcher throwing 5 solid innings, allowing just 1 earned run on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts. He also had a triple and a run scored at the plate. Dylan Olson pitched 2 innings in relief to shut down Bozeman and secure the victory. Kyle Heger hit a 425 foot shot to centerfield to give the Reds a 1-0 lead. Adam Seaman and Donald Blunt both had doubles and Kevin Roth had an rbi sac fly. Blunt and Colte Hinz also had great diving catches in the field. Great tournament for the Reds who have now extended their winning streak to 8 games. The Reds will play Giant Valley tonight at RHS at 6pm.

NOTE: The cancelled game on July 7th was a forfeit for Post 1. The Reds record now stands at 21-10.

After all the excitement of the Gopher Classic Tourney the Reds kept the momentum going for their 7th win in a row during a District 5 match-up with Post 1. The Reds (20-10) won 6-5. Adam Hill threw a complete game allowing just 2 earned runs on 7 hits. He had 4 strikeouts and did not walk a batter. Erik Lasserud hit a monster home run in the 5th, finishing the day 2 for 3 with 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. Tommy DeRoma also hit a home run in the 6th. Dylan Olson had a 2 rbi single and Tim Markos finished the game 1 for 3.

The Reds (19-10) defeated previously unbeaten Billings, Montana 8-3 tonight to advance to the Gopher Classic title game for the first time in team history! Colte Hinz pitched a great game going 6 innings, allowing just 3 earned runs on 7 hits. He struck out 3 and walked just 1 batter. Dylan Olson came in for the 7th and struck out 2 to end the game. Adam Seaman had a bases clearing double in the 6th and Kevin Roth had 2 rbi and a run scored. Dylan Klopp was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. The Reds will play at 9:30 am tomorrow at the Metrodome for the Gopher Classic title. What a great weekend for the Reds who are 6-1 in the tourney right now.

The Richfield Reds (18-10) defeated Roncalli, Nebraska today 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the Gopher Classic. Pierce Book pitched great on the mound, getting the complete game on 3 hits, allowing 1 earned run and had 3 strikeouts. Chris Daly's rbi single in the bottom of the 6th helped Richfield maintain the lead into the 7th. Tommy DeRoma, Colte Hinz and Adam Seaman combined on a relay to throw out Roncalli's tying run at the plate to end the game. Next up for the Reds is Billings, Montana in a semi-final matchup. The winner plays at the Metrodome on Tuesday for the Gopher Classic Championship.

July 13, 2008
The Reds (17-10) advanced to the Quarterfinals of the Gopher Classic with a 5-3 win over Sioux Falls West, SD. With the game tied at two in the 5th, Adam Seaman hit a 3-run shot to centerfield to take the lead. Kevin Roth was 2 for 3 with a run scored. Dylan Olson pitched great thru 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits and struck out 2. Chris Daly pitched 3 very good innings in relief, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits. It was a big victory for the Reds who went up against a tough pitcher from Sioux Falls. Up next is the bracket round tomorrow at noon vs. the winner of Minnetonka and Fargo, ND which is in progress. The game will be played at Minnetonka High School. We will update the site as soon as we hear who the winner is.

The Richfield Reds (16-10) defeated last year's South Dakota State Champs Rapid City 10-9 to come within 1 victory of advancing to the bracket round of the Gopher Classic. The last time Richfield beat Rapid City was in 1983. It was the Reds best come back win of the season. They were down 9-1 in the fourth and Adam Hill and Dylan Olson pitched 3 scoreless innings and the offense put up 9 runs to win. Donald Blunt hit his 6th homerun of the season to start a 4-run 6th to tie the game. Bryan Scanlon knocked in the game winning run in the 7th. Colte Hinz was 3 for 4 with a double, rbi and a run scored. Scanlon, Tommy DeRoma and Adam Seaman all scored twice for the Reds.

The Reds (15-10) defeated Alexandria today 5-4 to improve to 2-1 in the Gopher Classic Pool play. Pierce Book got the win on the mound, throwing 6.1 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 7 hits. He had 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Chris Daly had a 2-run double in the first inning which gave the Reds the lead for good. Bryan Scanlon was 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 rbi. Tommy DeRoma was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored. Colte Hinz scored twice for the Reds as well.

July 11, 2008
The Reds (14-10) won a hard fought thriller today vs. Burke of Omaha, NE 7-4. Chris Daly pitched a great game on the mound, going 6 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits and had 5 strikeouts with no walks. With the Reds losing 4-2 in the top of the 7th, Donny Blunt hit a 3-run homerun to deep center to take the lead. The Reds added 2 more and Blunt got the save on the mound. Tomorrow the Reds will play Alexandria at 11:30 in a rematch from the Grand Rapids Tournament. On Sunday the Reds will play two South Dakota teams to close out pool play in this tourney.

The Reds (13-10) were defeated by North St. Paul 10-8 in the first game of the Gopher Classic. Kevin Roth led the offense today going 4 for 4 with 2 rbi and a run scored. The Richfield Reds (13-9) continued their winning ways over District 5 with a 15-3, 5-inning win over Holy Angels. Colte Hinz got the win on the mound, going 4 innings, allowing 3 earned on 5 hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out two. Donny Blunt and Adam Seaman both homered for the Reds. It was Seaman's 4th homerun in the last 3 games. Kevin Roth was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Dylan Olson was 1 for 3 with 3 rbi. Pierce Book also had 3 rbi, finishing the night 1 for 4. Bryan Scanlon, Chris Daly, and Kyle Heger each scored twice in the Reds victory. Next up is the Gopher Classic, starting tomorrow at 9am at North St. Paul.

The Reds (12-9) defeated Chesterbird tonight 16-3 in five innings at RHS. Erik Lasserud got the complete game win on the mound, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits and struck out 4. Adam Seaman hit 2 homeruns, one a moon shot into Augsburg pond. He finished the night 3 for 4, 3 runs scored, and 4 rbi. Bryan Scanlon was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and an rbi double. Colte Hinz was 3 for 3 with an rbi and 3 runs scored. Donny Blunt was 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 3 rbi. Pierce Book, Kyle Heger, Kevin Roth, and Tommy DeRoma also scored for the Reds.

The Richfield Reds (11-9) lost a tough one to Edina tonight 7-6. Adam Seaman hit a 3-run homerun in the first inning. He finished the night 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi. Tommy DeRoma and Donny Blunt were also 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.

The Reds (9-6) were defeated 6-5 by Alexandria this morning in the semi-finals of the Grand Rapids Tournament. Donny Blunt hit his 3rd home run of the tourney. The Reds will play the loser of Edina/Grand Rapids in the 3rd place game this afternoon.

The Reds (9-5) defeated Duluth Lakeview today 4-3 in 9 innings. Colte Hinz got the game winning hit and Pierce Book pitched 7 strong innings. Adam Seaman and Donny Blunt each had a home run. The Reds finished 3-1 in pool play and will advance onto bracket play tomorrow. They will play 2 games before coming home tomorrow night. The game times have not been determined as of yet.

The Reds (8-5) defeated Bloomington Gold 8-1 in their third game of the Grand Rapids Tournament. Dylan Olson pitched a complete game, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits (all singles), while striking out 7 and walking one. Next up is Duluth Lakeview in the final pool play game for the Reds.

The Richfield Reds (7-4) defeated Oconto Falls, WI 14-7 in the first game of the Grand Rapids Tournament. Kevin Roth and Adam Hill each had 3 rbi, Kyle Heger was 2 for 4 with a 2 rbi double and Tommy DeRoma was 3 for 5 with an rbi and scored twice. DeRoma also got the win on the mound, going 3 innings, allowing 4 hits with 2 strikeouts. The Reds play Grand Rapids today at 5pm.

The Reds (6-4) were defeated by Wayzata 17-10 at RHS tonight. Adam Seaman and Kevin Roth hit their first homeruns of the season. Seaman hit a 2-run shot in the 3rd and Roth followed with a 3-run shot in the 4th. Roth was also 3 for 3 with a walk and 4 rbi in the game. Adam Hill had a 2 rbi double in the 5th, finishing the game 2 for 4. Next up for the Reds is the Grand Rapids Tournament this weekend! We are leaving RHS at 7am on Friday.

The Richfield Reds (6-3) were defeated by Eden Prairie tonight 5-2. Colte Hinz pitched well on the mound, going the complete game, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits. He struck out 4 and didn't walk a batter. He also had an rbi single in the 1st inning. Adam Seaman also had an rbi, going 1 for 3 with a double. Dylan Klopp and Donny Blunt each scored for the Reds and Bryan Scanlon had a double in the 6th. Next up for the Reds is a rematch vs. Wayzata whom the Reds defeated earlier in the season at the Edina Wood Bat Tourney. Game time 6pm @ RHS.

The Richfield Reds (6-2) won their 5th straight game tonight with a 5-1 victory over Minneapolis Southwest to remain undefeated in District 5 play. Pierce Book got the win on the mound, throwing a complete game, allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits while striking out 3. Colte Hinz led the offense, going 3 for 4 with an rbi and a run scored. Chris Daly also had an rbi and Kevin Roth was 2 for 2 with a sacrifice and a hit by pitch. The Reds are off until next Tuesday when they play Eden Prairie at Miller Park @ 6pm.

The Reds defeated Bloomington Blue tonight 9-7 at Red Haddox to improve to 5-2 on the season. Chris Daly was 2 for 3 with a 2 rbi and a run scored. Dylan Klopp was also 2 for 3 with 2 rbi and a sacrifice and Bryan Scanlon finished the night 3 for 4 with an rbi and a sac. Dylan Olson pitched well on the mound, going 4 innings with 3 earned runs and 2 k's in the win. The Reds go against a tough District 5 opponent, Minneapolis Southwest tomorrow at RHS. Game time is 6pm.

The Reds improved to 4-2 tonight with an 11-1 5-inning win over St. Louis Park. Kyle Heger hit the Reds first homerun of the season. A 3-run shot in the 3rd inning. He finished the game 3 for 3 with 3 rbi and 2 runs scored. Adam Seaman also had 3 rbi going 2 for 2 with a double and a walk. Tommy DeRoma was also 2 for 2 with 2 walks and 3 runs. Dylan Olson had 2 rbi and Donny Blunt and Doug Daly knocked in runs as well. Bryan Scanlon got the win on the mound, going 3 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks with a strikeout. Next up for the Reds is Bloomington Blue (Jefferson) at Red Haddox tomorrow at 6pm

Pierce Book got his first win of the season on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 0 earned runs, giving up just 4 hits with 2 walks and a strikeout. Donald Blunt went 3 for 3 with a walk. He scored 3 runs and had a rbi double in the 3rd. He also got the save on the mound. Adam Seaman was 2 for 3 with a double, walk and rbi. Colte Hinz was 1 for 2, with 2 sacrifices and 3 rbi. Kyle Heger also had an rbi and Bryan Scanlon scored twice. Next up for the Reds is St. Louis Park on Tuesday at RHS at 6pm.

The Reds lost their first game of the season to Excelsior tonight 13-0. Adam Seaman had a double for the Reds only hit. Next up is the first road game of the year at Red Haddox Fields vs. Bloomington Gold. Red Haddox is located on 90th and Portland in Bloomington. Game time is 6pm.

The Richfield Reds won their season opener tonight with a 3-2 District 5 win over Calhoun Northside. Chris Daly drove in the winning run in the 6th and Kevin Roth led the Reds offense going 2 for 3. Bryan Scanlon got the win on the mound, going 3 innings in relief giving up only 1 hit and striking out 3. He also had a game tying double in the 6th which drove home Kyle Heger. Tommy DeRoma also scored going 1 for 1 with a pair of walks. The Reds will next face Excelsior in a non-district game on Tuesday at RHS. Game time is 6pm.
