| Socastee wins their opener against Loris 9-2 behind a great pitching effort from Kyle Presley (no earned runs) and Travers Woodward (struck out all batters he faced (7!) in two innings). Combined pitching held Loris to 1 hit, a Texas Leaguer to right field. The team also hit well with 2 doubles from David Rickenbacker, 2 hits each from Tim Starkey and Kyle Presley, a triple from Ayres Renfro and a double from Jason Tomlinson. All 9 runs were scored with two outs and came on RBI hits starting with Cody Rice's RBI single in the first. Great clutch hitting. Hitting for the Braves were Ayres Renfro(2-3, 3B, RBI), David Rickenbacker (2-3, 2-2Bs, 4 RBISs), Jason Tomlinson (1-4, 2B, RBI), Cody Rice (1-4, RBI), Tim Starkey (2-4, RBI) and Kyle Presley (2-4, RBI). |
