In addition to the coaching staff and team managers, volunteers are needed for the following things:

-- Practice assistance -- the coaches will help, but others can, too -- throwing BP, operating the pitching machine, hitting fly balls/ground balls, watching out for safety concerns -- the more help available, the better the coaches can be with instruction time.

-- Fund-raising efforts, coordinators (bottle drives, chocolate sales, hosting a tournament, other ideas) -- to help the off-field managers as they address the costs of the season.

-- Travel coordinator, helping off-field managers with arranging meals, water, snacks, rides, transportation of gear, hotels, etc.

-- Groundskeeping -- to prep the field, help teach the kids the best groundskeeping practices for best play on the field, etc. Too many players over the years in PG youth baseball have been left alone and never learned the importance of spending time on mounds, batter's boxes, edges, raking, lining, screens and practice setup, bullpens, cleaning dugouts, and the product of that is that now Citizen Field is treated with no respect at all because the coaching did not put any effort into these areas at all.

-- Video -- we will get digital video of all games, so the following is needed: Someone to be fully dedicated to shoot the video (captured in half-inning segments), and download in order/logged/named to a Youtube site, with subscriptions. This video will be used for positive affirmation, coaching, and to allow parents/grandparents/friends to keep up with the kids and their progress. The person doing video will be directly behind the plate (wherever possible), and hopefully the quality is even good enough to be able to send clips to the local TV station for coverage. A good quality camera, and planning around power/batteries, is part of the equation.

-- Digital scorekeeping -- using the gamechanger.io site, and a tablet or laptop (with good battery power, in case there is no power to plug into), to keep comprehensive stats/spray charts for better learning/coaching/instruction. Ideally, the same person will do it for all games, and will understand importance of keeping detailed recaps of the game, including things like stolen bases, wild pitches/passed balls, fielder's choices, following and entering all pitches (even pitch type!), etc. Gamechanger.io can get very detailed, which helps give the coaches information that will help them best guide the team and make fast decisions during games.
