CHAMPIONSHIP

Outfitters(12-4-2) vs. Scorpions(13-5)

     This should be a great championship game. The Outfitters are going up against 2 former team members, Aaron Payette and Courtland Smith of the Scorpions. These 2 teams were among the better teams of the league and both have balanced teams. The 1st matchup of the season the Scorpions beat the Outfitters 19 to 7, However the 2nd time these 2 teams met the Outfitters won 13 to 3 and hit the ball very well. Overall the Scorpions outscored the Outfitters 22 to 20 during the season. If the Outfitters expect to win they will have to keep the walks to a minimum. The Outfitters gave the Scorpions 14 walks out of 2 games and 8 of those 14 walks ended up scoring. This might end up a great pitching battle as both teams have very good pitching, and these 2 teams also have great hitting throughout thier lineups. The Outfitters have proven to hit the ball better when facing eachother, if the Scorpions can find away to shut down the good hitting Outfiters lineup they will have a great shot at winning thier 1st championship. Overall the Outfitters have a better balanced team and should end up with thier 1st championship win as a team.

 

 

ROUND 2 2010 SPRING PLAYOFFS

1. Outfitters(12-4-2) vs. Matadors(14-4)  PICK-- Outfitters

    These 2 teams always go back and forth on the field and battle untill the end. During the regular season the Matadors out scored the Outfitters 30 to 20 and they both had 1 win against each other. Both these 2 teams are balanced with thier pitching defense and offense. However, the Matadors have more consistant solid pitching and the Outfitters have the offense. There should be very few if any errors this game as both teams have solid defense. If the Outfitters pitching can come ready to throw the Matadors will have a very tough game ahead of them. This should be a close game to the end and the Outfitters should pull off the win.

2. Scorpions(13-5) vs. Hurricanes(14-4)   PICK-- Hurricanes

     During the regular season these 2 teams split thier games with 1 win each. The Hurricanes scored a total of 15 runs off the Scorpions and the Scorpions scored 13 runs off the Hurricanes during the regular season. This will be a close came and a good game to watch. The Scorpions have the more Dominant pitching but the Hurricanes have the more solid and balanced lineup. If the Scorpions piching can shut down the Hurricanes bats they will have a chance to make it to the championship. The Hurricanes should get the win though because they are able to have solid defense and come up with more clutch hits in tight situations.

 

ROUND 1 2010 SPRING PLAYOFFS

1. Ball Busters(3-13-2) vs. Han(4-12-2)     PICK--Ball Busters

     During the regular season these two teams were evenly matched. they both scored 9 runs against eachother and the 2nd game the Ball Buster didnt come up with enough players to play. The Ball Busters have some more impressive wins and better played games against some of the better teams in the league. This game is going to be a close one to the end but the Ball Buster should come up with the win.

2. Demons(1-16-1) vs. Knights(8-10)     PICK--Knights

     The Knights owned the Demons all season. The Knights outscored the Demons 39 runs to 7 and on both games played during the regular season. This should be an easy win for the Knights.

3. Beavers(9-9) vs. Outfitters(12-4-2)     PICK--Outfitters

      The Outfitters won both games during the regular season, one a shutout the other was a walk off win in a very close game. The Outfitters out scored the Beavers 17 to 4 during the season. The Outfitters have been on a roll the 2nd half of the season and look strong going into the playoffs after a big win against the Matadors. However the Beavers won't hand over a win, they are a tough team that battles and have some key players that can help thier team win. The Outfitters should get the win in this one by atleast 4 runs.

4. Raptors(8-9-1) vs. Scorpions(13-5)  PICK--Scorpions

     The Scorpions are the strongest new team in the league and have shown this season that they can win games. During the regular season the Scorpions have outscored the Raptors 31 runs to 10 and got both wins. The Scorpions still look strong even though going into the playoffs with a tough loss against the Knights the previous week. If the Raptors can find away to shut down the Scorpions bats and can hit thier solid pitching they might be able to sneak away with the win. The Scorpions will get the win though and will win by 6 or more runs easily.

 

WEEK 15

1. Outfitters(8-3-2) vs. Knights(7-7)          PICK- Outfitters

     The Knights are coming off a shutout win against the Raptors. If the Knights pitching can somehow find a way to shut down the big bats of the Outfitters, and find ways to score some runs off the dominant pitching of the Outfitters, they might have a shot to beat the red hot Outfitters.

2. Demons(0-14) vs. Dirty Beavers(7-6)          PICK- Beavers

     The Demons are looking for thier 1st win of the season. They came out strong last week against the Matadors but were not able to hold onto thier lead. If the Demons can find some pitching they might have a shot at winning. The Beavers are to good of a team to lose to the last place team.

3. Hurricanes(9-4) vs. Outfitters(8-3-2)         PICK- Outfitters

     "The Game Of The Week" Every time these 2 teams play eachother it is a great game to watch. The last time they played, the Outfitters ran out of pitching and lost the game in the last inning. This game is the Outfitters 2nd game of thier double header. The Hurricanes haven't looked as solid as they have the past few season but always are a good team to play. If they bring thier A-game they might be able to beat the red hot Outfitters.

4. Ball Busters(3-9-2) vs. Han(2-10-1)          PICK- Ball Busters

     This was a hard game to pick. Both Ball Busters and Han are evenly matched teams. The Ball Busters get the pick, only because the pitching of the Han is weeker than the Ball Busters. It should be a close game, coming down to the last few innings.

5. Scorpions(10-4) vs. Raptors(7-6-1)          PICK- Raptors

     The Raptors have really shown that thier weekness is pitching. They got shutout last week by the Knights 7 to 0. The Raptors are going to come out this week and show that they are able to put up runs. However the Scorpions beat the Ball Busters 11 to 3 and keep showing that they have a great all around team that can really put up runs. The Raptors will be able to score off the Scorpions but they better come ready to play some defense because the Scorpions really know how to put the ball in play.

6. Han(2-10-1) vs. Matadors(12-2)          PICK- Matadors

     The Matadors have had a recent injury that has really hurt thier team. They are very lucky that they played the last place team last week, and 2nd to last this week. The Matadors still get the pick this week to win even while thier ace is out.  

 

WEEK 14

1. Matadors(11-2) vs. Demons(0-13)     PICK- Matadors     Result- Matadors

     1st place team vs. last place team. The Demons can make the biggest upset of the season by beating the Matadors this week. They will have to come ready to play and play solid ball if they want to somehow come up with a win in this game.

2. Raptors(7-5-1) vs. Knights(6-7)     PICK- Knights     Result- Knights

     Raptors are coming off a loss to the Matadors and the Knights are looking to show that they can win against some of the better teams. If the Knights can shut down the big bats of the Raptors the Knights can get this win.  

3. Ball Busters(3-8-2) vs. Scorpions(9-4)   PICK-Scorpions   Result- Scorpions

     These 2 teams faced eachother last week. The Scorpions won by 1 win a score 5 to 4. The Ball Busters are going to come out really wanting this win since losing by one to the Scorpions last week. However, the Scorpions pitching and thier bats are too strong to let the Ball Buster beat them.

4. Outfitters(7-3-2) vs. Han(2-9-1)     PICK- Outfitters     Result- Outfitters

     The Outfitters are the hottest team in the league right now. They are on a 6 game winning streak and are 10 or 20 run rulling teams. They are looking to make it 7 in a row. The Han are going to have to come with there A game if they wanna keep it a close game with the Outfitters.

5. Hurricanes(9-4) vs. Beavers(7-6)          PICK- Hurricanes

     "The Game of the week" The defending champions are going to face the slumping Beavers. The beavers are a very talented team with many of good players who always come ready to play. They will have to start making plays in the field and making solid contact at the plate if they want to beat the always dangerous Hurricanes.
