| Congratulations to Cory who was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 35th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur draft on June 8th! Cory was scouted by Wayne Norton who is a veteran in the amateur baseball circles throughout Canada and has been a scout for many decades. Cory will remain with the Edmonton Cardinals until a decision is made on signing his first professional contract or going to College in the fall. August 15th is the deadline for Seattle to sign Cory to a contract. If he does sign a contract then Cory would report to Peoria, Arizona which is the home of the Seattle Mariners for Spring Training, their Fall Instructional League and the Arizona Rookie League. If Cory does not sign with Seattle he would be eligible to be drafted again in future years depending on the College or University that he attends. |
