Posted Apr 26/10 - Commish Steps Down
On Monday April 26th 2010 6:11 PM Brian Romani (player/commisioner) of the league since 2003 stepped down as president and commisioner. Although it is still a question on wheather he is still going to play, the league will go on. Now under the leadership of Player and new president Bernie Woodford, the league has changed again. Romani said "I am burnt out and grateful from all of it" and still says that he has intrest in running it again. But for now as he stated, he has stepped down. He also stated that "I was treated unfairly in the past 2 years and somewhat taken for granted". Now the operation of the field, website, stats, and the players union is under Woodford.

Posted Apr 11/10 - Rookies Making An Impact
This years class made their debut and some quickly made their impacts. Jeff Kish who is a undrafted rookie made a huge impact for his team. The Sidewinders were lookin for a good arm and a big bat. At the plate he crushed 3 homeruns in his first game helping the Sidewinders match their win total of last year. He finished the day with 5 homeruns and 13 RBI's and 13 hits. Alex Zimmerman made a splash with the Threshers. He went 4 for 12 with a double and 2 RBI's and one dramatic walk off single laced up the middle. Brandon Eckert of the Swamp Dragons had a good day for his club as he went 5 for 9 with 2 jacks and 4 RBI's. Brandon Eckert showed off his power and he could have a dominant year as one of the best rookies in the league. Corey Staples hit .500 going 4 for 8 with an RBI. His role as a solid fielder wasnt really pressured but he will have a good year and really help this Thunder team who was considered one of the best who turned into a shakey team overnigth. Jason Bongard of the Shorebirds fit in just fine. He went 5 for 18 with an RBI. His bat will heat up and that means more runs for an already very powerful team. Scott Denoro on the otherhand struggled on making the transition from spring to the regular season. He didnt recieve a hit but had an RBI on a sac fly. Denoro will get his fair share of hits and provide some runs for the Mudcats to repeat.

Posted Apr 11/10 - Threshers Win 2 Big Games In Walk Off Fashion

The Threshers finished their season last year in a very disapointing way, but flip flopped that around winning their two games in walk off fashion.

Posted Apr 11/10 - Sidewinders Looking Good Early

Posted Mar 28/10 - 2010 Draft Is Over

It was the first one ever to hit the league and it wasnt as good as we all thought it would be. It was short and sweet and it was rainy. But now 6 new players have joined the league and now the games will feature a 3 on 3 playing field.

Posted Mar 28/10 - Gold Glove Contest Set To Best In Years

2010 shaping up to be one of the best seasons so far. Many changes could take place with players winning awards. One of the best awards to be won is the Gold Glove. Adam Dischert has won the award 2 times in a row. But 2010 we could see a different winner. Bill Anderson almost won it last season as a rookie missing it by 3 errors. But dont count Bill out this season. He had a good spring in the field. Another player who is projected to be in the running is Guiseppe Ferarra. Ferarra hasnt played much in the field but still has the ability to win it. He is a very athletic player who has speed and good hands. A new face that has joined the league in 2010 is Cory Staples. Cory showed off his fielding in spring and did very well. He robbed a few homeruns and didnt commit a single error. Lastly Zack Slavitsky has a chance just like all the others mentioned. Slavitsky almost won it in 2007 and 2008. Well now hes back and looks like hes going to have a great one. Although these players were mentioned we still cant forget about Adam Dischert. He is still the best fielder in the league and it may stay that way.

Posted Mar 22/10 - Romani Still Sits Homerless In Spring
The Shorebirds slugger Brian Romani has been struggling alittle more than expected in this Spring Training. Coming off of a monster homerun season Romani doesnt seem to have the power that we all know to hate. If this carries over into the season there could be some major changes take place. The players in the league are only getting better and so is the compitition. The field was moved back 12 ft to all fields making it even harder to hit homeruns. Romani says "I dont wanna hit 50 jacks this season and not win the World Series." He also said that he would take 40 but still his main focus is on the title.

Posted Mar 22/10 - Bill "Iron Horse" Anderson Looks The Best From 09 Class
Bill Anderson joined the league last year with the Threshers really not knowing what to expect. Also Bill had a bad toe injury that kept him out of action for 1 month. But its a new year for the Iron Horse and Bill looks ready to make an impact. In his first spring training game of 2010 Bill went 3 for 5 with a RBI. In his second game he went 1 for 3 with a game winning homerun in the 4th inning off of Adam Dischert. In his 3rd game he went 2 for 5. Andersons fielding is still solid. He didnt make any errors in the field and to some he is the front runner to win the Gold Glove award. Besides Woodford, Lavdas, and Ferrara, Anderson looks the sharpest. He still has some speed in him and looks to have become an overall good hitter. With 1 year behind Bill can now focus on his own play more and try to score more runs for a Threshers team that doesnt score much for their pitchers.

Posted Mar 22/10 - The Way Spring Training Is Going Dischert Could Have Long Season

This spring training hasnt been promising for Adam Dischert. Well then again neither was his playoffs of 2009. He currently is 3 for 12 at the plate with 5 strikeouts. Dischert posted up career high numbers in 09 with 25 homeruns, 113 hits, 59 RBI's, and a .581 avg. but the 2010 season could be hard on the 8 year veteran. He plays on a Sidewinders team which needs alot of work. Dischert has never been known to be a pitcher and if the Sidewinders do not choose wisely in the draft then we could find Dischert doing most of the pitching. His bat will get hotter as we have seen in the past 2 years but now that he plays for a team that needs help from a leader Dischert will have to carry alot of weight. With his great fielding it still wont be enough to secure a playoff spot for the Sidewinders. His streaky hitting will have to stay hot to carry this team. Is he ready for this?
